VETERAN BANNER

Veteran Banners are a great way to Honour Our Veterans who have served our Country. The Royal Canadian Legion, Bayview Branch #22 Grand Bay-Westfield is once again looking for people who would like to purchase a banner for 2023-2025. The banners are intended to Honour a Veteran who is either living or has passed on.

The banners are 24" x 48" and are made of high quality material guaranteed to last for the 3 years they will be displayed at a one time cost of $300.

2016 was the first year that the Bayview Legion 22 placed Veteran Banners along River Valley Drive. The banners were placed along River Valley Drive from Pizza Delight all the way to the Town Office. It was noted that Elden Smith put a lot of thougth into the placement of the banners. In 2017 we expanded further along River Valley Drive displaying a total of 48 Veteran banners. You may have noticed the RCMP had 3 banners at the Grand Bay-Westfield RCMP detachment. 2018 was again a great year and we added more Veteran Banners.

The banners are displayed from around the first week of October until Remembrance Day. In 2019, instead of expanding onto more poles we placed several banners inside of local schools and on the inside front wall of Sobeys. The banners that were placed inside the local schools were of local living Veterans in the area. The students learned about the Veteran that was displayed in the school and where possible the Veteran attended the school for a real experience.

The deadline for ordering the banners for the 2023 year will be May 15, 2023.

How do I get more information or order a banner?
